Sal is a private equity partner at CIEL Capital, where he helps lead the firm’s governance, investment strategy, and long-term value creation efforts. With more than two decades of experience, he has advised over 1,000 Canadian companies through pivotal moments of growth, transition, and succession, serving as a trusted advisor to established businesses facing complex decisions about their future.

Prior to joining CIEL, Sal co-led one of Canada’s largest business advisory practices focused on mid-market entrepreneurs, where he worked at the intersection of strategy, capital, and enterprise transformation. He brings a statesperson’s perspective to private equity, grounded in national purpose, disciplined stewardship, and a commitment to building enduring Canadian champions. His work has consistently advanced productivity, institutional resilience, and the long-term competitiveness of Canada’s private enterprise.

Sal’s lifelong dedication to service is integral to his professional mission. He served two historic terms as President and Chair of the Empire Club of Canada and was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025 for his contributions to civic and economic life. At CIEL, his leadership reflects this ethos: supporting portfolio companies and investing in businesses that strengthen communities and contribute meaningfully to Canada’s future. His work supports the development of investment platforms that enhance national competitiveness, economic resilience, and long-term prosperity.

He is also the founder and chairman of Saltruvia Counsel Ltd., reflecting a career-long commitment to governance, strategic leadership, and public-purpose impact.

Sal holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto.
